Groove Knights, Function and Party Band

We are Groove Knights, a four-piece band specialising in performances for weddings, functions, parties and any other event where a dynamic live band is required to play for dancing.

We specialise in  up-tempo classics mainly from the 1960s, 70s and 80s, covering the styles of Soul, Disco, Pop and classic Rock, and  all played with a great feel for the drive and rhythm that accompanied the music of  those eras.

The musicians in the band are all experienced performers, having worked in areas of music such as jazz big and small bands, rock and blues outfits, professional pantomime, holiday camps  and cruise ships. They also work in music education either privately or as local authority teachers. As more mature musicians, we can assure you of or professional commitment to your event and our own commitment to the music we play.

The band would normally expect to play two x 45 minute spots with a suitable break in between, and both before and during the break in the performance, we can provide suitable recorded background music. We do NOT provide a full DJ service, however.

Jazz Trio

In addition, the band is also able to form as a 'jazz' piano trio should you require background music for the arrival of your guests, or perhaps for 'dinner music' behind a meal. In that case, the music performed will be selections form the great era of 'The American Song Book', featuring the music associated with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and so on.

Equipment

The band has its own P.A system, currently around 1300 watts capability, and also carries its own lighting rig. We prefer to play under cover (e.g. inside a marquee), or indoors, and require two x 240 volt outlets form independent sources to power our system.
